Job summary

Midland Health is seeking a Telecommunicator/Dispatcher to respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for law enforcement, fire and emergency services within the Midland Health system.

You will operate multi-channel radio, monitor CCTV, collect information, dispatch responders, and maintain records in CAD system. Requires high school diploma, typing 22 wpm, and TCOLE/TX Telecommunicator license within a year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 1 year customer service experience.
• Experience with CAD/RMS systems preferred.
• Must pass typing test with a minimum of 22 words per minute.
• Some college education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls and determine appropriate responders.
• Monitor multi-channel public safety radio system and CCTV; relay information clearly.
• Enter and track incident data in CAD system; maintain logs and records.
• Communicate effectively with officers, staff, and public in tense situations.
• Provide information and assistance to public within scope of authority.
