Job summary

City of Saint Paul’s Office of Neighborhood Safety is seeking an experienced Data Analyst III to lead advanced research and data collection for department and enterprise initiatives. You will develop analytic approaches to track progress, outcomes, and strategy implementation across programs and partners.

Responsibilities include transforming data into reports, dashboards, geospatial analyses, data storytelling, and policy reviews; you may serve as a public information liaison.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in statistics or related field and four years of experience designing data collection instruments, researching, and analyzing data.
• Combination of education and experience to equal eight years or more can be used to qualify for the position.
• Four years of vacancy-related experience can substitute for a Bachelor's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced research and data collection for department and enterprise projects.
• Develop analytics approach for tracking progress, outcomes, and strategy implementation.
• Transform data into reports, dashboards, geospatial analytics, and data visualizations to inform planning.
• Provide recommendations and serve as public information liaison when appropriate.
• Research policy and track changes across government levels; present findings to leadership.
• Coordinate with other departments to implement data quality improvements.
