Qualifications

• FCC rules and regulations knowledge applicable to radio operations.
• Knowledge of OLETS, NLETS and NCIC operating manuals.
• Familiarity with state and federal criminal-record laws.
• Understanding agency communications policies and procedures.
• Ability to follow complex written instructions and procedures.
• Excellent typing speed and accuracy (25 wpm).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to stay effective under emergency conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate radio equipment and dispatch messages on assigned shift.
• Use teletype and computer systems to access OLETS/NLETS/NCIC data.
• Relay information to field personnel and agency officials.
• Research criminal history data and related records as required.
• Make immediate decisions and disseminate information to agencies.
• Maintain shift logs and prepare written reports.
• Compose messages about accidents, emergencies and weather conditions.
• Coordinate with other divisions and agencies on operations.
