Job summary

Dopusvi is seeking a dedicated Emergency Dispatcher to handle all incoming emergency calls and coordinate rapid responses using a computer-aided dispatch system. The role requires effective communication with police, fire, and medical units, maintaining detailed logs, and adhering to established procedures.

Successful candidates will have an associated degree in emergency services or equivalent experience, pass background checks, and complete required certifications.

Qualifications

• A degree in emergency services or related fields is preferred.
• Experience as a 911 operator/dispatcher is eligible for consideration.
• Candidates must be able to pass background checks and pre-employment assessments.

Responsibilities

• Receive all incoming calls for police, medical, and fire assistance and dispatch equipment.
• Maintain a log of recorded calls, broadcasts and complaints.
• Coordinate dispatch with island-wide and other departments during incidents.
• Use pre-defined protocols to assess location, seriousness, and required response.
• Relay instructions to units and verify assignment locations and status.
• Monitor alarms and CCTV; communicate with emergency personnel and units.
• Maintain calm, operate under protocol, and act with initiative as required.
