SUBJECT is a boutique communications agency with offices in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, built for brands that expect more than traditional PR. We develop and execute strategies that build cachet, drive awareness, and create lasting cultural impact through media relations, brand positioning, talent and influencer engagement, partnerships, sponsorships, events, and experiences. Our clients span entertainment, fashion, hospitality, spirits, technology, and luxury lifestyle.
We move beyond the expected, working with artists, image-makers, and cultural voices who shape what's next. Our approach is strategic and instinctive, blending insight and creativity to connect brands with the audiences and moments that matter most.
About the Role
We're looking for a PR & Influencer Account Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you'll lead campaigns that sit at the intersection of thought leadership and culture, elevating the founders, executives, and creative voices behind our clients while generating buzz around launches, talent, events, and experiences. You'll move easily between positioning a business leader for a keynote speech and securing a talent feature in a top entertainment outlet, always with an eye for what makes a story culturally relevant.
What You'll Do
Thought Leadership
- Develop and execute visibility strategies for founders, executives, and creative leaders, positioning them as authoritative voices in their industries
- Secure bylines, op-eds, expert commentary, profiles, podcast bookings, and speaking opportunities at conferences, panels, and industry events
- Write or edit bylined articles, LinkedIn content, talking points, and executive bios
- Prepare clients for interviews with briefing documents, messaging frameworks, and media training support
- Monitor news and culture cycles to identify timely opportunities for client commentary
Entertainment & Culture PR
- Plan and execute publicity campaigns for talent, projects, product launches, openings, and appearances
- Secure coverage across entertainment, fashion, luxury, hospitality, food and beverage, tech, and lifestyle media, spanning print, broadcast, digital, and trade outlets
- Plan and manage press launches, press trips, red carpets, screenings, dinners, and experiential events, including invitations, RSVPs, and on-site management
- Collaborate with talent teams, including managers, agents, studios, and networks, to align messaging and timing
Influencer, Talent & Partnerships
- Develop and manage influencer and creator campaigns that extend reach across social platforms
- Identify, pitch, and manage brand partnerships, sponsorships, and talent activations
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with media, influencers, and creators through regular communication and press appointments
- Serve as the day-to-day lead on client accounts, running client calls and managing expectations
- Deliver monthly coverage reports, pitch activity updates, and campaign recaps that show measurable results
- Write press releases, media alerts, pitch materials, and press kits
- Assist with budget management and campaign planning
- Proactively develop fresh angles to keep media interested in ongoing campaigns
- Lead, mentor, and oversee junior staff, and help manage overall press office operations
What You Bring
- 5-7+ years of PR and influencer experience, with demonstrated success in both thought leadership and entertainment or lifestyle publicity
- An established network of contacts across entertainment, fashion, luxury, hospitality, spirits, tech, and business media, plus influencers, creators, podcast hosts, and event producers
- A track record of securing high-impact placements, such as top-tier features, broadcast segments, keynote slots, and trade coverage
- Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to shift between a polished executive op-ed and a punchy lifestyle pitch, tailored to each outlet's focus
- Strong knowledge of the media landscape, including digital, social, and podcast ecosystems, and how PR's role continues to evolve
- Creative, strategic thinking and the ability to "connect the dots" between a client's story and the cultural conversation
- Natural leadership skills and experience managing junior team members
- The ability to prioritize competing client demands in a fast-paced, small-team environment where wearing many hats is the norm
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and media tools such as Cision, Muckrack etc.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, and to work occasional nights and weekends for high-profile client events
