Boutique consumer PR agency is looking for a Public Relations Account Director with a strong earned media mindset, love of people management, and a proven ability to lead accounts and teams with confidence.

This role is ideal for a consumer brand generalist who thrives in fast-paced environments and can balance media strategy, thoughtful client counsel, and team leadership—all while jumping into new industries and driving initiatives forward independently.

About You:

You have 5–8 years of experience in PR (agency strongly preferred) and a client portfolio that spans food & beverage, QSR, CPG, consumer tech, entertainment, or financial services. You’re both a sharp media strategist and a natural team leader. You know how to pitch a great story, lead a client call, and mentor junior talent—all before lunch.

PR Account Director Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the day-to-day on 3+ client accounts across a total portfolio of 6–7
• Act as the strategic partner and go-to lead for clients, providing smart, proactive counsel and managing key communications moments
• Drive media strategy and execute earned outreach with a strong track record of securing coverage in outlets like Fast Company, Bloomberg, TechCrunch, Forbes, Eater, GMA, Adweek, and others
• Write compelling press materials—pitches, press plans, op-eds, bylines—that break through the noise
• Manage funding announcements, product launches, and executive visibility efforts
• Mentor and manage two junior team members, fostering growth and supporting their development

What We’re Looking For:

• 5–8 years of experience in PR with a strong background in consumer brand storytelling and thought leadership; agency experience strongly preferred
• Day-to-day account lead experience across multiple clients and industries
• Direct people / team management experience with an affinity for growing and mentoring more junior staff
• Strong media relationships with an eye on the ever-evolving landscape
• Excellent writer with experience drafting press materials, bylines, and op-eds
• Confident, proactive communicator with strong instincts for client service
• Comfortable managing up and down—and being both strategic and hands-on
• Thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and enjoys swimming outside their swim lane
• Excitement to work at a small agency with large clients that is only continuing to grow
• Belief that there is huge value in both in-person team and client meetings (being able to come into the NYC office 2 days/week to work and collaborate with the team is a must)

Office Schedule: hybrid - 2 days/week in-office and 3 days/week remote.

Salary Range: $95,000 - $115,000
