Job summary

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement in Tallahassee is seeking a Government Operations Consultant I to coordinate the administrative activities of the Public Records Section and support the Department’s obligations under Chapter 119, Florida Statutes.

The role involves researching and retrieving records, coordinating with field staff, applying exemptions, ensuring timely production to requestors, and providing analytical and consultant support to program areas requiring record production

Qualifications

Knowledge of public records procedures and Florida Statutes related to records disclosure.
Ability to read, analyze, and summarize criminal investigative data and records requests.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with field staff and legal staff.
Ability to plan, organize, and complete work independently.

Responsibilities

Coordinate administrative activities of the Public Records Section.
Assist with legal issues related to the Public Records Law and requests for records.
Redact exempt information and ensure exemptions are properly applied.
Ensure timely production and proper docketing of records requests.
Provide analytical and consultant support across program areas requiring records production.
