Job summary

City of Seattle seeks an Administrative Specialist III in the Legislative & External Affairs (LEA) team to manage public disclosure requests and lead constituent communications. You will support the LEA Director and team, maintain records, and coordinate with multiple city offices while promoting equitable and inclusive communication practices.

The role includes calendar management, meeting coordination, and participating in internal and external communications projects.

Qualifications

  • Three years of clerical support experience or equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Experience with public records requests and inter-department coordination is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage public disclosure requests (PDRs) under public disclosure law and city requirements.
  • Oversee lifecycle of PDRs from receipt to release of records.
  • Track PDR progress and prepare regular status reports for LEA Director.
  • Coordinate with City departments and City Attorney’s Office as needed.
  • Train staff on record retention and serve as public records subject matter expert.
  • Manage LEA Director’s calendar and support meetings and communications.
