Job summary

The Frick Pittsburgh is seeking a Public Programming Associate to support its Learning and Visitor Experience department. The role covers day-of support for public programs, including lectures, tours, performances, and site-wide events, with emphasis on visitor experience and coordination with curators and vendors.

Hours are 5-10 per week, daytime/evening, including weekends; non-exempt, part-time, on-call.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Engaging communicator with energy, flexibility and adaptability.
• Must be reliable, punctual and willing to work a flexible schedule.
• Interest in art, history and/or museum work.
• Ability to handle potentially challenging interactions with empathy.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and move tables with assistance.
• Act 33/34 clearance and FBI background clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as day-of support for public programs, ensuring a high-quality visitor experience.
• Coordinate with the Manager and Curator to support performances and events.
• Liaise with program vendors, speakers, or performers.
• Provide check-in assistance and professional customer service to attendees.
• Explain program purpose, scope, and logistics to visitors.
• Assist with setup, teardown, and post-event cleanup.
• Support LVE responsibilities during large events like Summer Fridays and Winterfest.
• Assist staff in handling last-minute changes and finding solutions.
