Job summary

Alliance Defending Freedom in Lansdowne, VA and Dallas, TX seeks a qualified Legal Counsel, Public Policy to join the Government Affairs team. You will draft legislation and policies, track federal and state bills, and provide legal counsel on free speech issues affecting technology, finance, and corporate sectors.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and active bar license in at least one US state.

Responsibilities

• Draft legislation and policies related to free speech and censorship across sectors.
• Review, track, and report on federal and state bills affecting ADF’s priorities.
• Develop knowledge of new legislation and its impact on ADF’s issues.
• Prepare analysis, position papers, and summaries with internal experts.
• Conduct research and report on court precedents affecting priorities.
• Travel extensively to meet stakeholders and advocate policy.
• Provide testimony and presentations on legal implications of proposed legislation.
• Foster relationships with government and policy allies.
• Speak publicly to media and crowds.
• Collaborate within ADF and with external allies.
