Davidson Troilo Ream & Garza, P.C. is seeking a qualified associate attorney to assist the Firm’s Public Law section in providing general counsel and City Attorney services to local municipalities, municipally owned public utilities, special improvement districts and other local government entities.

The ideal candidate will have a J.D. from an accredited law school, Texas bar admission, and 1–5 years of experience in municipal or local government law.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active Texas bar license.
• 1–5 years of experience, preferably in municipal or local government law.
• Strong research, writing, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to draft and interpret municipal ordinances, resolutions, and agreements.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel and general municipal law advice to cities and related entities.

• Advise on compliance with Texas statutes and regulations governing local governments.
• Serve as municipal court prosecutor for assigned municipalities.
• Assist with City Council meetings and prepare memos and agendas.

Davidson Troilo Ream & Garza, P.C. is seeking a qualified associate attorney to assist the Firm’s Public Law section in providing general counsel and City Attorney services to local municipalities, municipally owned public utilities, special improvement districts and other local government entities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal counsel and general municipal law advice to cities, municipalities, municipally owned public utilities, special improvement districts and other local government entities.
• Conduct legal research and provide legal analysis on a wide variety of municipal and public law matters.
• Draft, review, and interpret municipal ordinances, resolutions, policies, contracts, agreements, leases, easements, and other legal documents.
• Advise municipal clients regarding compliance with applicable Texas statutes, regulations, and other requirements governing local governments.
• Serve as municipal court prosecutor for assigned municipalities.
• Assist with City Council and other governmental meetings, including preparation of agendas, legal memoranda, and supporting materials as appropriate.
• Communicate directly with municipal officials, staff, department heads, and other governmental representatives.
• Manage multiple matters and competing deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Travel to client municipalities and local government entities as needed and attend evening meetings.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff across the firm to provide responsive, practical, and effective legal services to public-sector clients.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing with State Bar of Texas.
• 1-5 years of experience, preferably representing Texas municipalities, municipally owned public utilities, or other local government entities.
• Knowledge of substantive laws applicable to Texas local governments and municipal entities.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with attorneys, clients, and staff.
• Highly organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple matters and competing deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and sound professional judgment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness and ability to travel to client locations and attend evening governmental meetings.
