We are seeking a seasoned Associate Attorney with a focus on Municipal Law to join our dynamic legal team in either the Sacramento, CA area or the Ontario, CA. The role offers an incredible opportunity to work on a diverse range of legal matters concerning public and private entities, including municipal litigation, legal research, and complex legal matters.
Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel to public and private entities on a broad range of municipal matters, including land use, zoning, public contracts, environmental law, and other related practice areas.
- Conduct thorough and timely legal research to support case preparation and advise clients.
- Represent clients in municipal litigation, including trials, hearings, arbitrations, and mediations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Provide legal opinions and advice on a range of municipal laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals to provide comprehensive legal services.
- Stay updated on current laws, court decisions, and regulations affecting municipal law.
- Participate in client development and networking activities to foster strong client relationships and grow the practice.
Qualifications
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney with a focus on municipal law.
- Proven experience in municipal litigation, representing both public and private entities.
- Excellent legal research skills with the ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide clear, concise advice.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively advocate for clients and present complex legal concepts to non‑lawyers.
- Strong negotiation skills, with a proven track record of achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
- A high degree of professionalism and adherence to strict ethical standards.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
