Job summary

The Whittemore Public Library is seeking a part-time Library Director (18-26 hours weekly) to manage day-to-day operations with the aid of the Assistant Director and Library Clerk. The role includes planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating all library activities, and serving as the primary public representative.

Responsibilities also include attending Board meetings, reporting statistics, drafting budgets and policies, ensuring compliance with laws, and maintaining fund allocations.

Qualifications

• Excellent telephone skills and daily public interaction.
• Proven ability to plan, organize, direct and coordinate library activities.
• Ability to prepare budgets and financial reports, and ensure legal compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day library operations with the help of staff.
• Attend Board of Trustees meetings and report on library statistics.
• Draft and implement operational policies and long‑range goals.
