Job summary

Lowe Engineers is now part of MacKay and seeks a full-time Capital Improvements Construction Inspector to join our Atlanta team. You will monitor public infrastructure projects, verify conformance with plans, and support timely completion of capital works.

Travel to neighboring municipalities is required; design exposure in stormwater projects is preferred; strong reporting and communication with stakeholders are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• Three years of field inspection experience on civil/public works.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and QC practices.
• Ability to read drawings and technical specs.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect capital improvement projects for roads, drainage, parks.
• Verify contractor work matches plans, specs, permits.
• Maintain daily inspection reports, photos, field notes.
• Coordinate inspections with contractors, engineers, utility reps.
• Review submittals, schedules, testing reports.
• Identify nonconforming work and coordinate corrective action.
• Attend preconstruction and progress meetings.
