C Cameron County seeks a Public Information Officer/Public Relations Officer to manage open records requests, coordinate with counsel, and serve as the official spokesperson for media inquiries. You will ensure compliance with Texas transparency laws and craft clear public communications.

Reporting to the Chief Legal Counsel, you will translate complex legal information into accessible releases and supervise public communications across the county’s digital platforms.

Competenze

• Knowledge of the Texas Public Information Act and Texas Open Meetings Act.
• Ability to interact with officials, staff, and the public.
• Knowledge of social media and communication platforms.
• Knowledge of English grammar and audience needs.
• Skill in writing and editing.
• Ability to perform under pressure and in emergencies.
• Knowledge of ethical guidelines for communications.
• Skill in desktop publishing and design.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly in English and Spanish.
