Qualifications

• Six+ years of public relations, communications, or related experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field; combination of education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute specialized public information and education tactics to inform the public of the County’s programs and services.
• Coordinate and deploy emergency communications with Emergency Management teams.
• Establish and maintain contacts with media, community groups, and government/private representatives.
• Perform public speaking engagements; write scripts and coordinate presentations with staff.
• Provide writing support and edit newsletters for the organization.
• Develop and implement distribution and outreach plans, including handling sensitive issues.
