Job summary

Clark County is seeking a Public Information Officer to develop communications, marketing, PR and media plans in support of county initiatives. The role responds to media requests, pitches stories, and engages with community groups to convey messages effectively.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations/Marketing/Journalism/Communications and at least four years of professional experience, with bilingual content in Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or related field.
• Four years of full-time professional experience in public relations, marketing, journalism, communications, or related field; substitution allowed per policy.

Responsibilities

• Respond to news media requests for information and interviews.
• Pitch stories to news media, bloggers, influencers and communicators.
• Engage with community groups to communicate organizational messaging.
• Develop and implement communications and engagement strategies for county initiatives.
• Prepare technical, statistical and narrative reports and materials.
