Job summary

Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority in Norfolk, VA is seeking an Assistant Property Manager to support the Senior Property Manager in daily operations, maintenance, and financial performance of public housing units.

You will ensure compliance with HUD and local housing regulations, administer NRHA programs, manage lease documents, rents, and move-ins/move-outs, and lead on-site staff to deliver quality resident services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in residential property management.
• Knowledge of HUD regulations, LIHTC, and Fair Housing laws preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Property Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring HUD compliance.
• Process applications and lease documents; perform move-in/move-out inspections.
• Maintain resident records, rent rolls, and occupancy reports.
• Monitor rent collections and issue notices for late payments.
• Coordinate property maintenance and repairs; create work orders and follow up on completion.
• Support budgeting and procurement; track expenses and prepare reports.
