Job summary

Ingham County Health Department seeks a Workforce Development Coordinator to lead and develop the department's workforce development activities with emphasis on emergency preparedness, workplace culture, and recruitment.

You will collaborate across divisions to drive initiatives, analyze data, prepare strategic reports, and manage budgets and grants to sustain a viable public health workforce now and in the future.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and 3+ years in public health, workforce development, business development or HR.
• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in public health, workforce development, business development or HR.
• Experience in a governmental setting is preferred.
• Strong writing, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead workforce development activities with emphasis on emergency preparedness and recruitment.
• Collaborate across department divisions to develop and evaluate workforce initiatives.
• Prepare executive strategic reports on departmental workforce needs.
• Manage department-level workforce development plans and accreditation components.
• Analyze staff training needs and coordinate targeted programs.
• Ensure DEI goals are integrated into workforce development efforts.
• Lead data collection, analysis and presentation for workforce planning.
• Develop and oversee the workforce development budget and grants.
• Build partnerships with community organizations and academic institutions.
• Oversee onboarding strategies and staff mentorship programs.
• Create marketing/outreach to recruit under-represented groups.
