Job summary

Ingham County Health Department is seeking a Population Impact Specialist to examine and address root causes of health inequities in Ingham County. You will collaborate with the Health Equity Council to deepen coalitions and coordinate efforts around social determinants of health.

The role involves engaging with diverse partners, coordinating with the Health Equity and Social Justice Coordinator, and advancing language accessibility initiatives to improve access to healthcare for linguistically

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of college required.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Strong analytical and systems thinking.
• Ability to self-direct when appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Understand and address root causes of health inequities; analyze trends relevant to Ingham County.
• Collaborate with community members, organizations, providers, faith-based groups, and stakeholders to improve partnerships.
• Collaborate with ICHD staff to implement and report on project activities.
• Identify topics of interest for Health Equity Council, grantees, and community members.
• Strengthen staff capacity to address health inequities within the Health Department and partner organizations.
• Deepen relationships with 5-7 engaged stakeholders in 2026-2027.
• Establish relationships with 3-5 new stakeholders in 2026-2027.
• Update 3-5 written resources on social determinants of health for residents.
• Assist in developing and implementing an advanced Language Accessibility Plan.
• Support HESJ Coordinator with program planning and coordination.
• Assist in facilitating Implicit Bias trainings for staff and partners (optional).
