State of Arkansas’s Division of Local Public Health – Ouachita County Local Public Health Unit is seeking a Health Unit Supervisor/Expert to lead daily operations, supervise staff, manage resources, and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.

The role oversees immunizations, WIC, family planning, disease tracking, and health education; coordinates local public health emergency response with regional leadership and reports to ADH central/regional offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 3 years public health/administrative experience.
• Experience with public health programs and service delivery preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and supervisory abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily health unit operations including staff scheduling, service coordination, and facility management.
• Direct and support a team of clerical staff, technicians, environmental health staff, and health professionals.
• Oversee immunizations, WIC, family planning, infectious disease tracking and health education programs.
• Ensure compliance with ADH policies, procedures and health program protocols.
• Coordinate local public health emergency response with regional leadership.
• Monitor budgets, inventory, and resources; ensure proper use of funds.
• Submit reports and evaluations to ADH central and regional offices promptly.
