Job summary

The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene seeks a Supervising Special Officer to oversee health police operations and supervise staff across NYC facilities. This permanent position requires Peace Officer qualifications and proven supervisory experience.

You will review performance, assign patrols, and ensure proper uniform and equipment checks. You will also prepare incident reports, testify when needed, and manage time sheets and daily field reports while ensuring compliance with required

Qualifications

• HS diploma and 1 year of full-time experience in law enforcement, protection or security.
• Must be qualified to serve as a Peace Officer per NYS requirements.
• Certification must be maintained for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities

• Review work performance of Special Officers and conduct evaluations.
• Direct and train subordinates and correct poor performance.
• Assign patrols and review patrol sheets.
• Prepare and submit detailed incident reports to superiors.
• Testify in court on arrests and summonses issued.
