Job summary

State of Georgia is seeking a Public Health Registered Nurse for Crawford County to provide direct patient care under general supervision and support a broad range of public health initiatives across the state. Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and one year of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification; or one year of experience at the lower-level PH Registered Nurse 1 (HCP190) or position equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, provides direct patient care and services.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and exercises good judgment in the execution of patient care protocols.
• Orders appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments and administers medications and vaccines in accordance with protocol.
• Provides patient education and makes appropriate referrals.
• Maintains documentation of medical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, referrals, education, and consultations in the electronic medical record system.
