Job summary

The Georgia Department of Public Health, Macon County, seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver professional nursing care under established protocols. You will document care in the EMR, order and dispense medications as needed, and advocate for patients while coordinating referrals to community partners or physicians.

Preferred candidates hold a Bachelor's in Nursing and have at least one year of RN experience; state licensure and CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license.
• CPR certification.
• Completion of a PHN course within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care consistent with the patient’s level of need.
• Utilize the EMR system to document patient care and billing information.
• Order and dispense medications per nursing assessment and nurse protocol.
• Serve as patient advocate and refer patients to community partners or private physicians.
• Within 2 years of hire, function as an expanded-role nurse.
