Job summary

SecureBio is seeking a Public Health Response Manager in Cambridge, MA (or DC or remote for outstanding candidates) to lead engagement with state and local health officials, translate biosurveillance findings into action, and shape response protocols. You will build trust, craft tailored crisis communications, and coordinate cross-functional teams to minimize response time from alert to action.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in public health or closely working with health officials.
• Existing peer relationships with public health officials and decisionmakers.
• Demonstrated experience with biological incident response or infectious disease outbreak investigation.
• Strong understanding of US public health infrastructure.
• Advanced degree in public health or related field.

Responsibilities

• Build and nurture trusted relationships with state and local public-health partners.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with public-health agencies and networks.
• Maintain crisis communication templates for various audiences.
• Translate technical findings into actionable public-health guidance.
• Inform escalation frameworks for detection events.
• Lead aspects of the response process when signals are detected.
• Support exercises and simulations to test response protocols.
• Develop decision trees for detection scenarios.
• Maintain up-to-date stakeholder contact lists.
• Draft after-action reports to improve protocols.
• Occasionally work outside normal hours for escalation events.
• Demonstrate exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
• Synthesize complex information to drive action; coordinate across teams.

Education

Advanced degree in public health or related field
