The CDC Foundation seeks a Project Manager to lead the CHW certification and credentialing program in Mississippi, coordinating partners and ensuring equitable, transparent processes. You will shape policies, manage timelines, and drive performance measures to improve public health outcomes.

You will oversee operations, training alignment, and continuous quality improvement while engaging diverse communities and professional partners to advance workforce development and program sustainability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, healthcare, social services, education, business, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in project management, workforce development, certification/credentialing, public health, healthcare, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of CHW roles, competencies, workforce development, and community-based public health practice preferred.
  • Experience with certification, credentialing, assessment, accreditation, or quality improvement preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the CHW certification and credentialing program.
  • Develop and maintain program policies, procedures, eligibility requirements, competencies, application processes, examinations or assessments, and renewal requirements.
  • Establish project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and performance measures.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous quality improvement and program sustainability.
  • Build and maintain relationships with CHWs, employers, training organizations, health departments, healthcare organizations, community-based organizations, academic institutions, and other stakeholders.
  • Convene and facilitate advisory committees, workgroups, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Ensure meaningful CHW participation in program design, governance, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Coordinate applicant intake, eligibility verification, documentation review, examination/assessment processes, certification decisions, renewals, and recertification.
  • Ensure consistent application of certification standards and maintain confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Coordinate with training providers to ensure alignment between CHW education, competencies, and credentialing requirements.
  • Monitor program compliance with applicable policies, standards, and accreditation or recognition requirements.
  • Develop and monitor the program budget, contracts, resources, and operational needs.
  • Track key performance indicators, including enrollment, certification rates, workforce participation, diversity, completion, renewal, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, dashboards, and recommendations for organizational leadership and governing bodies.
  • Identify risks, resolve operational issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Other duties as assigned
