Job summary

The Department of State Health Services seeks a Program Specialist I to support the Medical Advisory Board (MAB) under EMS/Trauma Systems. This full-time, on-site role in Austin requires processing case referrals, ensuring complete packets, and coordinating with DPS and clients.

You will handle document review, data entry, meeting preparation, policy development support, HIPAA compliance, and customer service for MAB inquiries.

Qualifications

• Must have at least one year of work experience with data management and data sharing.
• Experience coordinating, tracking, and responding to administrative assignments.
• Experience preparing complex correspondence, documents, or reports.
• Experience managing complex programmatic information in support of programs.
• Experience with computer software applications.
• Excellent written communications as observed by detail and completeness of information on the application.

Responsibilities

• Review weekly files from DPS and upload into the correct referral file; request missing documents.
• Provide customer service regarding MAB case evaluations and inquiries for licensees.
• Ensure program files have current information for physician review panels; support the process.
• Coordinate moves of completed reviews back to DPS for final decision.
• Assist in developing and maintaining information and resources on review guidelines.
• Respond to MAB inquiries and assist with policy and procedure development.
