Mérieux NutriSciences - North America is seeking a Microbiologist 1 to join our Crete, IL lab. The role involves conducting microbiological analyses, supporting lab methods, and maintaining quality documentation in a fast-paced environment.

The incumbent will perform rapid and confirmation tests, manage data in LIMS, and contribute to ongoing process improvements while adhering to safety policies. Associates degree is required; Bachelor's degree preferred, with 1–2 years of microbiology

Qualifications

• Analytical skills are essential for completing analysis procedures and determining microorganism concentration.
• A basic knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is required to process client data.
• Physical dexterity is needed for manipulating samples and equipment in the lab.
• Interpersonal skills help effective teamwork in a clinical lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Follow methods and SOPs; maintain quality control records.
• Read, record, and evaluate data in LIMS; perform rapid tests.
• Perform confirmation tests to identify bacterial strains.
• Prepare samples and record analysis data for client reports.
• Support continuous improvement and quality management processes.
• Participate in safety policies and maintain equipment records.
