Job summary

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) is seeking an IT Project Manager to oversee a variety of critical IT projects. You will collaborate with developers, engineers, designers and stakeholders to ensure projects meet scope, budget and timeline goals, while maintaining quality and governance standards.

The ideal candidate will lead the full lifecycle from initiation to closure, manage resources and risks, and drive delivery in a dynamic public health environment

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, plus four years of relevant full-time experience.
• Or an associate degree with six years of relevant experience.
• Or a bachelor’s degree with eight years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full project lifecycle from initiation through closure.
• Define scope, goals and deliverables with stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate and allocate resources to ensure successful execution.
• Identify and mitigate risks and develop contingency plans.
• Facilitate communication among stakeholders to ensure alignment.
• Monitor progress and ensure adherence to timelines and budget.
• Conduct post-implementation reviews to identify improvements.
