Job summary

City of Abilene is seeking an IT Specialist to maintain and support the public health data network and EHR systems. You will serve as super-user for the EHR, manage user access, perform audits, and provide training to staff.

This role partners with nursing and IT teams to ensure data integrity and smooth technology operations in a public health environment. Responsibilities include system imaging, network maintenance, reporting, and supporting software upgrades.

Qualifications

• Basic computing concepts and networking fundamentals.
• Familiarity with EHR functions and public health software.
• Experience supporting, or serving as a super-user for healthcare information systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and training for EHR and public health software.
• Manage EHR user access, permissions, and security.
• Conduct routine EHR audits to identify data quality issues.
• Generate and review operational and programmatic reports.
• Collaborate with staff to troubleshoot system issues and improve workflows.
