Job summary

Lorain County Public Health seeks an intern to support its Population Health team by evaluating tobacco-related programs, developing educational materials, and engaging with community partners. Under supervision, you will collect data, present findings, and contribute to health communication efforts across platforms.

The role emphasizes hands-on experience in public health evaluation, data analysis, and collaboration with staff and external partners.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
• Knowledge of health education methods, public health, marketing, social media.
• Ability to follow instructions; work with the public; define problems; collect and analyze data; communicate in written and oral form; prepare concise and accurate reports.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze information through surveys, environmental scans, and other evaluation activities.
• Help create educational materials, media releases, and social media and website content for the tobacco program.
• Work with staff and community partners on population health activities.
• Share what you worked on and learned in a presentation to the Population Health team at the end of your internship.
• Assist with other related projects as assigned.
