Job summary

Maricopa County Department of Public Health seeks an Indigent Decedent Coordinator to coordinate eligibility for indigent services in accordance with Arizona statutes and policies. The role involves coordinating with multiple entities and vendors to ensure timely disposition services, while maintaining compliance and sensitive handling of decedent matters.

The candidate will interact with public partners and funeral homes, support training and contract compliance, and operate at the OVR

Qualifications

• Three years of experience performing responsible clerical or administrative duties.
• High School Diploma or GED required; post-secondary education may substitute.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
• Experience coordinating programs or case management is valued.
• Familiarity with Arizona statutes and administrative codes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform intake and determine eligibility for indigent services.
• Coordinate referrals with vendors and stakeholders; ensure compliance.
• Guide and counsel applicants and partners on government entitlement options.
• Maintain data and documentation per HIPAA and PII policies.
• Oversee disposition processes and interment coordination as required.
