Job summary

CORE COMMUNITY ORGANIZED RELIEF EFFORT in Pembroke, NC is seeking a part-time Harm Reduction Program Coordinator to address opioid crisis and sexual violence in Indigenous communities. You will coordinate daily harm reduction activities, engage with affected individuals, distribute supplies, and connect participants with healthcare and social services.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in public health, Social Work, Human Services, Community Health, or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in harm reduction, public health, substance use services, community outreach, or related field preferred.
• Experience coordinating community-based programs, outreach activities, or health education initiatives.
• Experience with data collection, recordkeeping, monthly progress reports, and final program reports.
• Experience connecting individuals to healthcare services, substance use treatment, social services, and other community resources.
• Experience working with diverse and underserved populations using a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and nonjudgmental approach.
• Experience distributing harm reduction supplies and providing overdose prevention education preferred.
• Experience collaborating with community partners, healthcare providers, and public health agencies.
• Management and leadership skills
• Ability to schedule and manage tasks effectively

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily harm reduction activities to meet community needs.
• Engage with individuals affected by substance use and provide harm reduction education.
• Distribute supplies like naloxone following program guidelines.
• Maintain program records and prepare monthly progress reports.
• Build partnerships with healthcare providers and community organizations to coordinate referrals.
