Job summary

Knox County Health Department is seeking a Public Health Program Specialist - Harm Reduction to support development, implementation, and coordination of harm reduction services and community outreach initiatives. You will connect individuals with resources, provide education, reduce stigma, and promote health and well-being.

Responsibilities include establishing goals, monitoring program effectiveness, preparing reports, educating staff, and maintaining compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required in Public Health or related field.
• Substitution: HS diploma/GED plus 5 years in Public/Community health may substitute for the required education.

Responsibilities

• Serves as subject matter expert in an assigned program area and develops procedures, monitors program effectiveness, interprets information for staff and the public, and reviews reports and expenditures.
• Establish program goals and objectives, monitor effectiveness, determine priorities, and develop training and corrective action plans. Attend monthly meetings.
• Prepares reports and analyses; liaises with funding authority and fiscal unit; recommends actions to officials; ensures compliance with laws and procedures.
• Conducts educational outreach and develops program information materials; trains employees; interprets laws and policies; promotes TRAIN LMS usage.
• Provides administrative assistance to departmental staff within the program area.
