Job summary

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) seeks a professional Construction Project Manager Level 2 to support the Office of Facilities Planning and Space Management. You will oversee general construction and MEPFP engineering reviews for DOHMH facilities, including animal care centers and leased spaces.

Under supervision, you will read plans, manage contractors, ensure compliance with codes and wage rules, and coordinate schedules.

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time satisfactory experience managing and/or inspecting construction projects with at least $300,000 total cost per project.
• One year of described experience plus a bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, construction management, or related field.
• One year of described experience plus a valid professional license (PE/RA/Landscape Architect) issued by a recognized board.
• Matriculation in undergrad program may substitute up to three years of experience with 30 credits per year.

Responsibilities

• Provide General Construction and MEPFP engineering review and expertise for DOHMH projects.
• Oversee construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance of owned and leased facilities.
• Ensure compliance with plans, specs, codes, insurance, and prevailing wage requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, and city agencies.
• Review change orders, field conditions, and punch lists; monitor schedules and costs.
• Attend site meetings and prepare progress reports.
