Job summary

Eagle Health Analytics collaborates with CDC’s Mycotic Diseases Branch to provide scientific support in laboratory, epidemiology, public health, and communication. This role focuses on surveillance design, data management, QA/QC, and outbreak analytics to aid jurisdictions and CDC in detecting and responding to mycotic diseases.

The epidemiologist will conduct analyses using R or Python, develop surveillance tools in REDCap, draft reports and manuscripts, and contribute to partner coordination

Qualifications

• Master of Public Health, MS, or equivalent in epidemiology or related field.
• 3–5 years experience in public health with state or local partners.
• Advanced knowledge of epidemiologic principles, surveillance, and outbreak investigation.
• Strong analytics using large datasets and software (R, Python).
• Experience developing and managing surveillance databases (REDCap).
• Ability to independently manage multiple complex priorities.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including scientific writing.
• Collaborate across CDC centers and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Surveillance design and maintenance, protocol and case definition development.
• Data acquisition, validation, deduplication, cleaning, and documentation.
• Quality assurance and control audits and data quality summaries.
• Analytic support using R, Python, or CDC-approved tools.
• Draft surveillance reports, briefs, abstracts, and manuscripts; ensure CDC clearance.
