Job summary

Salt Lake County Health Department is seeking a seasoned program manager to lead regional medical surge, medical countermeasures, and emergency preparedness programs in collaboration with hospitals and public partners.

The role requires experience in budget and grant management, contract oversight, and operational logistics, with knowledge of ICS/NIMS frameworks. A valid Utah driver’s license is required and background checks will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Emergency Management, Nursing, or related field plus four years of relevant experience.
• Preference given to applicants with supervisory experience.
• Valid Utah driver’s license required at hire; obtain within six months to operate County vehicle.
• Background check through fingerprinting and RAP Back enrollment required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and manages projects from initiation to completion with stakeholder coordination.
• Supervises staff including hiring, training, performance reviews and discipline.
• Leads planning and implementation of regional medical surge and healthcare preparedness programs.
• Manages budgets, grants, funding agreements, and related contracts with fiscal oversight.
• Ensures alignment of emergency plans across healthcare systems and partner agencies.
• Develops reports and measures; supports continuous quality improvement and response operations.
