Florida Department of Health in Brevard County seeks a Government Operations Consultant II to support emergency planning, training, and response coordination across local, state, regional, and federal partners. The role includes reporting, exercise preparation, and shelter coordination to protect community health.

Responsibilities cover reviewing plans from home health agencies, engaging in preparedness trainings, and assisting with the Florida Health Alert Network drills.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in MS Office software.
• Communication skills – oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, training, exercising, and reporting for real events.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners for response and recovery at local, state, regional and federal levels.
• Support the county’s Special Needs Shelter (SpNS) program and align processes with Brevard County Emergency Management partners.
• Assist in training Florida Department of Health Brevard staff on Open Points of Dispensing and Local Distribution Site roles.
• Review Comprehensive Emergency Management Plans submitted by home health agencies, home medical equipment providers, hospice, and nurse registries.
• Participate in Public Health Preparedness training, partner meetings, exercises and real events.
