Job summary

Qualifications

The Health Education Program Consultant serves as a Healthy Communities of Florida Liaison within the Department of Health, advancing chronic disease prevention and strengthening community partnerships to support healthy eating and active living. The position coordinates outreach events, manages health education inventory, develops community partnerships, and supports the Wellness Wave initiative to improve access to public health programs and community engagement. The role requires collaboration with state agencies, nonprofits, schools, and community stakeholders to implement statewide health strategies at the county level.

Key qualifications

• Knowledge of public health principles, community outreach practices, and health promotion strategies
• Knowledge of event coordination logistics, including staffing, scheduling, equipment management, and operational planning
• Knowledge of communication and health-messaging standards, including working within PIO guidance and approved materials
• Knowledge of data entry, tracking, and reporting systems, including documentation requirements and quality assurance practices
• Knowledge of community partnership development and methods for engaging organizations and agencies
