The CDC Foundation, in partnership with CDC and local authorities, seeks a Public Health Educator to support the OD2A program. You will educate the public on health initiatives and OD2A objectives, working with diverse communities in a hybrid Dallas setting.

Responsibilities include creating educational materials, hosting trainings, building partnerships, and sustaining overdose prevention efforts. Master’s degree and 3+ years in public health preferred.

Formación

• Master’s degree required in public health, education, or health sciences.
• Minimum of 3 years’ public health or community-based work experience.
• Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge in overdose prevention, substance use disorder treatment, harm reduction, recovery, and/or drug policy.
• Experience collaborating with program staff and internal/external partners.
• Experience developing and implementing needs assessment surveys.
• Experience with data visualization.
• Experience presenting public health information on local, state or national levels.
• Experience delivering training to jurisdictions and/or professional development materials for diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work well independently and within teams.
• Experience creating content on overdose prevention, harm reduction and treatment.
• Experience working in a virtual environment with remote partners and teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Teams and Zoom.

Responsabilidades

• Create publications, pamphlets, and educational materials for local and state agencies.
• Manage internet presence of OD2A program objectives and resources via social media and jurisdiction website.
• Host public health trainings/forums for high-risk communities.
• Develop community partnerships to achieve OD2A objectives.
• Collaborate with public health agencies, outreach programs, facilities, shelters, schools and centers to identify overdose education needs.
• Assist in sustaining overdose prevention programming.
