Job summary

King County's Health Sciences Division seeks an Overdose Training and Community Engagement Consultant II (Educator Consultant II) to lead equitable overdose prevention and response strategies. You will collaborate with public health staff, community organizations, and cross‑sector partners to advance education, engagement, and organizational change.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree or higher with 2 years in a training/education role or 4 years in health or social services.
American Heart Association BLS/CPR‑AED certification.
Valid Washington Driver’s License and ability to drive to locations in King County.
Experience applying harm reduction principles and ERSJ practices.

Responsibilities

Provide consultation, leadership, and technical assistance to public health staff and community partners on overdose prevention and engagement.
Lead community capacity-building and engagement to prevent, recognize, and respond to overdoses.
Identify opportunities to increase knowledge, resources, and readiness with partners to develop sustainable solutions.
Develop and facilitate inclusive training events and workshops
Assess community needs and tailor education and outreach strategies with community input
Coordinate workgroups and advisory processes to support learning and collective action
Strengthen interagency partnerships to expand overdose prevention reach and impact
Lead community outreach and coordinate with media on overdose prevention messaging
