Job summary

Baltimore County Government seeks a public health education professional to address tobacco prevention, cannabis prevention and cessation, and health promotion in the community.

The role focuses on developing educational programs, delivering trainings to diverse audiences, and evaluating program effectiveness through pre/post testing and performance metrics. Evening/outreach events and county-wide outreach are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, health education, health science, health administration, or a related field.
• Three years of professional experience in health education, with two years in planning and developing programs.
• Additional experience may substitute for education year-for-year up to two years.

Responsibilities

• Lead cannabis prevention education initiatives and healthy decision making.
• Deliver targeted trainings to staff, healthcare providers, parents, students, and educators.
• Create and distribute evidence-based cannabis education materials.
• Conduct community outreach events to provide cannabis prevention education.
• Advise schools and partners to enhance cannabis prevention and health promotion.
• Implement pre/post testing and track key performance measures.
