Job summary

Naval Hospital Bremerton seeks a Health Educator to promote health education and wellness programs at the Bremerton, WA location. The role includes planning and delivering education activities, including tobacco cessation, nutrition education, and weight management, to diverse populations.

The candidate will develop population-based initiatives, conduct group and individual counseling, and manage basic workload data and records in support of the MTF tobacco cessation program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health education, Community Health, Public Health or related field.
• Graduate from an accredited college or university.
• BLS certification.
• One year of specialized experience as a Health Educator after graduation.

Responsibilities

• Provide health promotion and education opportunities including, but not limited to, tobacco awareness; tobacco cessation classes or appointments, and nutrition education and weight management.
• Develop population-based programs targeting high-risk groups and individuals, implementing programs through group and individual counseling and education.
• Plan and implement health education programs as specified in the TO.
• Perform limited administrative duties, including maintaining statistical records of workload and data entry and analysis of patient outcomes.
