Central Jersey Medical Center is seeking a General Dentist to join its Healthcare team under the Chief Dental Officer. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive dental care, adhering to clinical protocols, and contributing to program planning and community health initiatives.

The position requires graduation from an accredited dental school, NJ licensure, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited dental school.
• Completion of an accredited general practice residency program is preferred.
• Ability to be clinically fluent in Spanish preferred.
• Knowledge of public health principles and practices preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to maintain appropriate clinical privileges required, hospital privileges preferred.
• FTCA coverage or private professional malpractice insurance obtainable.
• Licensure and Credentials.
• Unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of New Jersey.
• Current CPR(BLS) certifications. ACLS preferred.
• New Jersey CDS and DEA registrations
• Medicare and Medicaid provider numbers.

Responsibilities

• Examines individuals requesting care, diagnoses their dental/oral conditions, prescribes and carries out, or directs others in carrying out, appropriate dental/oral treatment, or refers individuals for specialty consultation or treatment in conformance with approved clinical protocols and guidelines.
• Records patient-dentist transactions in the dental record and completes referrals, data collection instruments and other required records.
• Educates individuals in oral health and disease prevention.
• Serves on the dental staff and other center committees as assigned.
• Prepares specific reports as requested by the Chief Dental Officer.
• Assists in continuing education, on-the-job training, and orientation of staff.
• Designs and implements Dental Department policies and procedures per standards.
• Provides health education to the community as requested.
• Participates in program planning and goal development for the Dental Department and agency.
• Provides consultation to the CEO and Board on dental health issues in absence of the Dental Director.
• Travels as needed to fulfill Medical Center’s needs and represent the Dental Department.
