Job summary

Jrfnj in Edison, NJ is seeking a General Dentist to provide direct dental care in an ambulatory setting under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer. The role collaborates with the Executive Team to shape policy and ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

The position requires NJ licensure, CPR/BLS, and CDS/DEA registrations, with experience in public health or community clinics. Candidates will lead clinical teams and contribute to QA, scheduling, and efficient workflow across the dental

Qualifications

• Authoritative knowledge of general management principles, especially personnel management and running a dental practice in a community health center.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional literature and regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information to groups of managers and the public.
• Experience with implementing QA/QI dental procedures and initiatives.
• Knowledge and ability to use an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

Responsibilities

• Examines individuals requesting care, diagnoses dental/oral conditions, prescribes and carries out treatment or refers for specialty care.
• Diagnoses and treats diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums.
• Caps injured teeth and fills cavities; evaluates need for braces or referrals to Orthodontist.
• Designs and fabricates dentures to replace missing teeth.
• Educates individuals on oral health and prevention.
• Records patient-dentist transactions accurately in the dental record.
• Leads dental care team coordination, scheduling, and workflow management.
• Supervises Dental Assistants and Sterilization techs; participates in QA and board meetings.
