Job summary

Galveston County Health District is seeking a detail-oriented Data Manager to lead data management, reporting, and analytics for public health programs. This on-site role coordinates data activities and turns complex data into actionable insights for leadership.

You’ll develop and maintain databases and dashboards with Tableau or Power BI, administer Salesforce, and support the Strategic Health Plan and Community Needs Assessment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Informatics, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or BI (master’s preferred).
• Experience as a public health statistician or data analyst in government setting preferred.
• Two years of experience implementing databases and analyzing results using statistical tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the data department and coordinate data management and analytics projects.
• Develop, implement, and maintain databases, data collection systems, and analytical plans.
• Manage and interpret data for initiatives including the Strategic Health Plan, Community Needs Assessment, and Public Health Accreditation Board.
• Create interactive dashboards and visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
• Administer Salesforce, including user permissions, profiles, data integrity, and CRM Analytics data flows.
• Analyze complex datasets, identify trends and patterns, and prepare reports for executive leadership and the United Board of Health.
• Collaborate with the Local Health Authority and Health District teams to identify public health priorities and potential threats.
• Create and maintain system documentation, ad hoc reports, and data cleaning and reconciliation processes.
• Support public health emergency preparedness, response activities, and community partnerships.
• Present public health information and represent the division at meetings as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned
