Florida Department of Health in Polk County is seeking a Health Support Technician in Lakeland to support clinical, laboratory, and administrative duties within a public health setting. The role involves patient preparation, specimen handling, data entry, and coordination with healthcare providers.

The incumbent will maintain clinic equipment, assist with exam rooms, collect basic vitals, perform HIV education materials distribution, and ensure proper biohazard procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing and analyzing data.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Knowledge of basic computer software.
• Skill in using medical instruments or testing equipment.
• Ability to interview patients and obtain a complete medical history.

Responsabilités

• Perform reminder calls to patients prior to scheduled appointments.
• Update patient records with lab and x-ray results.
• Enter data in HMS and tracking databases.
• Assist with inventory and ordering supplies weekly.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• May be assigned to other clinic sites within the county.
