Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Abilene invites applications for an Associate Professor in the School of Population & Public Health. The incumbent will contribute to teaching, scholarship, public health practice, and service, mentoring students and building an active program of research.

We seek an emerging scholar with commitment to excellence in teaching and community engagement, ready to advance population health through education, research, and practice-based solutions.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in public health or closely related field.
• ABD or final doctoral completion expected by Dec 31, 2026.
• Doctoral training in relevant public health disciplines or related business/commerce with public health experience.
• Experience in teaching and student mentorship at undergraduate and/or graduate level.
• Evidence of scholarly activity (publications, presentations, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate public health courses aligned with accreditation requirements.
• Design and update courses using evidence-based pedagogy for in-person, hybrid, and online learning.
• Develop syllabi, learning outcomes, assessments, and instructional materials.
• Participate in curriculum development, evaluation, and program assessment.
• Mentor students in practice experiences, capstone projects, and research.
