The City of Longview seeks an Assistant Director of Finance to lead and develop a high-performing municipal finance team. This senior role reports to the Director of Finance and collaborates across City departments and with stakeholders to ensure strong financial management.

Responsibilities include planning day-to-day operations, overseeing close processes, coordinating audits, administering Tyler Munis ERP, and monitoring the annual budget, with involvement in emergency operations when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field.
• Three years of experience managing accounting/financial operations.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• CPA is required.
• Other applicable financial certifications encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge of GAAP, GASB requirements, and computerized accounting systems.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Plan, coordinate, and manage day-to-day operations of the Finance Division.
• Oversee month- and year-end closing processes.
• Coordinate the annual audit with external auditors.
• Administers Tyler Munis ERP system.
• Develop and monitor the City budget.
• Serve in the Emergency Operations Center during City emergencies.
