Job summary

County of San Mateo is seeking a qualified County Facilities Security Manager to supervise security operations across five county buildings and other facilities. The role includes managing contracts, budgets, and security infrastructure, while coordinating with law enforcement to ensure safe environments.

The ideal candidate will have extensive security management experience, strong leadership, and a commitment to public service.

Qualifications

Three to five years of extensive security management experience with supervisory responsibilities.
Professional certifications such as CPP or PSP are desirable.

Responsibilities

Manage security agreements and contracts for multiple County buildings.
Collaborate with Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement on campus security.
Oversee surveillance system installation, operation and maintenance.
Conduct security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and suggest improvements.
Lead security staff and vendors; manage budgets and contracts.
Develop and deliver safety and security training, including active shooter response.
Respond to incidents and coordinate follow-up actions.
Prepare reports on security operations, incidents and compliance.
Participate in long-range security planning and technology upgrades.
Coordinate emergency preparedness with internal and external partners.
